Individual Membership
Any individual working in the trust and trustee services, pensions, private banking, family offices, asset servicing, legal, accounting and other professional services fields
Corporate Membership
Corporate applicants which are incorporated under the Hong Kong Trustee Ordinance and granted with TCSP licence
Other corporate applicants which only have TCSP licence should be required to have trust business related track record, such as trustee appointment, trust assets under administration, or key professional staff having experience relating to trust business in their past employment history, etc.
Other professional firms, e.g. law firms, accounting or tax services firms and insurance companies.
Certified Trust PractitionerTM
Certified Trust Practitioner™designation will be awarded to individual members of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association who have satisfied the Certification, Experience and Membership requirements.
- Certification - to be awarded the HKTA’s Trust Training Certificate (“TTC”) by attending the training course and passing the exam.
- Experience - to gain a minimum of two years Relevant Hands-on Experience before, during or after study for the TTC course.
- Membership - join HKTA as an individual member. You must agree to all the standards and requirements of that membership including but not limited to Fit and Proper requirements and adherence to Best Practice Guidelines. The individual membership fees is HKD2,000 per annum.

Membership Admission Criteria:
HKTA would welcome applications from industry practitioners, corporate or individual, for membership or renewal of membership, the success of which will depend on an overall assessment of the applicant, at BOTH company level and responsible person levels (if applicable), made by the HKTA Executive Committee in accordance with criteria that include, but not limited to, the following :
- relevance to the trust industry or its upstream/downstream service areas
- background, history, business nature and specialty
- relevant experience and track records
- extent of professionalism
- scale of business set-up (eg. size of trust assets, staff force etc)
- transparency of company information
- license / registration under any specialized regime
- overall profile, repute and standing
- shareholding structure and / or shareholders
- compliance with HKTA Best Practice Guide(s)
- any note-worthy points that may help HKTA in getting a better understanding about the applicant

Applications
- Applications for membership are invited from any corporation which is a trust company registered under section 79 of the Trustee Ordinance, as well as any other person, company or firm interested in the objects of the HKTA.
- Corporate applicants are asked to provide the names of up to three representatives (for corporate membership) with contact email addresses, phone and fax numbers. A brief background or history of the member should also be submitted together with a website address (if any).
- Upon approval of the application, full year membership fee HK$8,000 will be applied for Corporate member and HK$2,000 for Individual member if an applicant joins during 1 January and 30 June. Half year membership fee HK$4,000 will be applied for Corporate member and HK$1,000 for Individual member if an applicant joins during July-December.
