Experience and Membership
The applicant is required togain a minimum of two years Relevant Working Experience before, during or after completion of the Trust Training Course and examinations.

As an individual member, applicants must agree to all the standards and requirements of that membership including, but not limited to, Fit and Proper requirements and adherence to Best Practice Guidelines. Experienced Practitioner Exemption (“EPE”)
Trust industry veterans may apply for the designation through Experienced Practitioner Exemption route. Experienced practitioners will generally need to have at least 10 years’ active experience in a trust related field before they can be considered for the EPE. Decisions on the granting of exemptions will be made by the HKTA “Membership Subcommittee”. There is an application fee of HKD5,000 under the EPE route.
Continuous Professional Training (“CPT”)
As part of HKTA’s objective of improving standards and knowledge, those who have been awarded the Certified Trust PractitionerTM designation must subsequently undertake 6 hours of CPT per calendar year (i.e.1 January to 31 December). It is intended that each unit of the course will qualify for CPT accreditation so that if a person wishes, they may attend stand-alone units to qualify for CPT. Your CPT requirements will be applicable annually from the first full calendar year commencing after your CTP designation is awarded. The cost of assessing your CPT and maintaining your HKTA CTP designation in the HKTA register is HKD1,000 per calendar year.
