Dear Members and Visitors,

Welcome to The Hong Kong Trustees’ Association website.

The Trustees’ Association is a professional association for trust companies, businesses and individuals providing trust and fund-related services in Hong Kong.

The aims of the Association are set out in its Memorandum and Articles of Association. In summary, they are:

• to support and protect the status and interests of trust companies and their practitioners in Hong Kong;
• to promote best practice and governance within the industry;
• to provide educational services to its members;
• to consider all questions and issues affecting the trust and fund services industry and its professionals and to represent the industry to government and other industry associations to procure changes of law or practice.

The next few years hold many challenges and changes for the industry in Hong Kong, including the launch of Employee Choice Arrangement for the MPF system; the introduction of Best Practice papers for the industry covering corporate, pension, private and charitable funds; the impact of the USA’s Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act on the financial industry in Hong Kong; and long over-due changes to the Hong Kong Trustee Ordinance.  We will keep you updated on progress as it occurs.
